Interest Check: The Clone Wars

Alright, I've been feeling something of a Star Wars itch lately.

I know both Paul and I are fans of the series (and I know we're not alone) but I thought I'd drop a line here and see if people would be interested in snagging characters (canon and original) in a game that put players right smack in the middle of the Clone Wars. I figure this would allow people to draw inspiration from a multitude of sources but, of course, the current Clone Wars animated series as well.

I think it could be quite a little romp, but I'm curious for the thoughts of others as well.

Both. Which works, since they all blend together thanks to George, as opposed to, say, Marvel, where movies, animated and comics are all three distinct continuities with their own plots and deaths/revivals etc.

I'd be interested in an animated sort. I think the 'movie' theme is worthy of it's own community, but the 3D series would suit perfectly. Either way, I'd grab a character, sure.

I was also thinking about some other options, as I mentioned I would in the other thread, and thought: What about the Avengers?

Not a Marvel board, per se, but something based around the Avenger group.

Might be cool. I'd be interested in Thor.

I agree totally. We both know only too well that a Star Wars game can sustain itself on its own site.

My thinking here was that this board, and specifically the Clone Wars setting, would be contained enough that we could see whether or not our muses (as a group of players) had the fuel for a larger, independant game. If, later on, we discovered that the spark was still there, we could jump forward to a new site and time-jump in to the Jedi Purge (or something) and allow people to still preserve what they'd done here in the Clone Wars if they wanted. The Clone Wars game wouldn't necessarily just have to end at that point either. Lots of possibilities.

In any event, that's my rough line of thinking. I'm sure in chat we could hash it out more.

Avengers, at best, would have to wait for the movie release to capture my interest. My Marvel muse is just...meh. LOL

I'd probably be interested in Eeth Koth (I think that's how it's spelled) or Cad Bane.

Yeah, I could potentially be interested in a few different characters.

What about Smallville?

A bunch of young heroes running about causing all kinds of trouble? There's quite a few characters on that series roster now, too, which means there's some decent character potential. And it's not quite 'DC', but more... fresh and modern.

a Star Wars game is something I had been looking for for a while now. I prefer the Imperial era, due to a touch more familiarity to it, however after watching the current Clone Wars series I am confident I could pull that off just as successfully. Either or is good for me, just none of the current book runs or the KOTR as I haven't seen any material from those games.

Yeah, I'm steadily making my way through Season 1. I haven't seen an animated series this well put together since Justice League. Good stuff.

Well, if you do, I'll probably go with Cad Bane or... Anakin (if not both). I decided I didn't like Koth as much.

I wouldn't be averse to tackling Smallville somewhere down the road, but I've got a long road to travel before I want to dabble in the DC playground again, LOL.

Star Wars, on the other hand...I still feel robbed from ROTE.

That said, I'm sort of waiting to see just how bad the holidays hit this place and how many of the regulars will trickle back.
