Confronting the Ghost of the Past

Continued from the scene began in JLA:
Ystina's blood loss began to slow even with the effects of the salt in the ocean. Soon it stopped completely. Ystina could feel within her mind the water spirit willing the water within the blood to stop in the injury effectively creating a cover and stopping the blood loss. It had never had to do something like this before so it had taken it time to learn. The concept of having a "body" was a foreign one to it. Fortunately it could remember the times that her mother would gently cover her wounds when she had hurt herself and now she replicated such an act with her power. It did not seem right within her own past but it helped at the moment so she did not question it.
The squid snapped its beak in reply and stretched out its other large tentacle to grip the cat being and move it towards its beak as it was asked. Meanwhile it was confused by what exactly sugar lumps or oats were. He could sense from her that they were treats although it would really perfer fish.
"Our quest is almost over, Rezward. We must return to the submarine quickly. The energy being sent to the one you call Crimson might very well slay her." The spirit said, now with the added element of a knight's pride.
The squid powered on until it got close enough to allow the two to be able to make it to the submarine. It stretched out its smaller tentacles to grab nearby rocks in an attempt to hold itself in that location.

Her head was spinning from the blood loss but at least now the water had stemmed the flow of it into the sea. Ystina though could not see why that was so important. After all she didn't have blood, she was a knight spirit of the seas...or was she?
Too many memories swam through her head again. Her vision disappeared for a moment as the memories built up into a stinging pain in her head. Memories from the farm, training to become a knight, learning to commune with the sea animals, helping an octopus trapped in a rock slide, fighting to the death against Gloriana, flying Vanguard. Many more came into her head, her mind desperately trying to reconcile so many differing and confusing memories.
The pressure though relaxed and she was able to focus once more on the task at hand. Ystina made her way into the submarine and the only thing she could be sure of; they had to help Crimson.

REzward was focused on getting to the sub as fast as he could with the falling debree and everything. when he saw the tenticle come from behind him he moved to avoid it he was to late. he glanced back as it brought him towards it's beak. He nods, "Yes let's." he said figuring this creature was faster than he was in the water. Once at the sub he moved to see about getting into the sub. "Crimson!" he called out trying to get the top open.
He was worried about her. He did not know much about her, but he knew he had to help her. He made a promise and he would do everything in his power to keep his word. WHile the quest was nearly over, it was getting to one of the most crucial parts.

Witchfire, unfortunately was in the sub, so she couldn't help the rest of the party.
All she could try to do was try to help Crimson, and she did so with an attempt to syphon off some of her energy overflow.
"Calm down, Crimson! It's okay! You're safe!"

Witchfire tried to absorb the enegy away from Crimson but it was no use. The magical energies seemed to ignore her, continuing to charge into the atlantian girl with stern determination. She continues to cry out as it continues to flow into her.
"I'm burning! I'm burning!" she screamed. She was very warm to the touch and desperation, fear, and pain were as clear on her face as the tears to streamed down her eyes. "It hurts so much! I'm dying!"
A realization came to the mind of the water elemental an thus to Ystina. The energy flowing into Crimson was stolen from mighty Neptune himself. Powerful magics must have been cast to steal it and then force it into the recepticle that was this girl. What would have been a controlled process, however, had broken down into all of it rushing into the girl. Nothing could be done for her to give her relief from this burden. With this knowledge also came the sad fact that if Neptune was going to reclaim his stolen power the girl would need to die.
Following through on one's duty and slaying the girl so that Neptune would have his power back or showing mercy to an innocent. Regularly the water spirit would not hesistate to do her duty but now the very human thoughts from her host were confusing that decision.

Rezward was feeling real bad about now. he was stuck outside and Crimson was being hurt by something. He wished there was something he could do to try and stop her from behing hurt. What ever it was was apparently beyond all of them. Though he did not know that the destructuion of the tower would do this to her.

"The energy Crimson is drawing is that of Lord Neptune himself," Ystina relayed the information that had seemingly popped into her head from nowhere, "If Neptune wants the power back then Crimson would die,"
Ystina felt the compulsion to strike Crimson down but she wondered precisely why she should, wasn't she here to help Crimson or was it to serve Neptune? Her arm twitched with the trident, eager to kill Crimson and rightfully return Neptune's powers but then that would not help Crimson, so she could not do it. The knight managed to stay her hand for now, getting increasingly confused about what it was she was supposed to be doing here.

"NO!" Rezward said looking to Ystina. "There has to be another way. If it was taken once, surely it can be done so again." he would fight Ystina if she tried to kill Crimson. He did not know if he could win, especially powered by a powerful servant of this Neptune in her. "It probably would not be a simple thing to do, but if it was taken from Neptune, it could be taken by a similar method that would hopefully not involve her death.
