25TH ANNIVERSITY SPECIAL

STORY:

The short movie starts out with a look at the wreckage left after a great battle. As the scene moves we get to one of Mazinger Z's mighty punches lying on the around. Suddenly it is picked up and we see Mazinger Z running shooting the first again. It punches through several robots but the rest leap at him. A great collection of robots from almost all of the Go Nagai robot series. They beat mazinger Z mercilessly and hold him up in pikes. As Mazinger Z moves his head he sees Aphrodite Ace placed up on a crucifix. Everything looks doomed as Mazinger Z has been overwhelmed by the sheer numbers.

Suddenly a flash comes accross the screen cutting down the pikes and destroying several robots. As all look up to see Great Mazinger standing proudly in a mountain and soon afterwards he is joined by Kotetsu Jeeg, Vanus Ace, Getter Robo G, God Mazinger, and Groizer X. All leap into action and begin to absolutely tear into the enemy robots destroying all in their path (with all that power who would think anything else would happen?). However when they finally defeat them all a new threat comes...

Out comes an impossibly large version of Ankoku Daishogun who trashes all of the robots. Things look hopeless for the heroes but a familiar theme song of a certain alien robot begins to play. The Daishogun takes Aphrodite but there is a flash light and Shin Getter Robo severes that arm with his Double Tomahawk. Grendizer swoops in saving Aphrodite and together with the Double Tomahawk and Double Harken they destroy Ankoku Daishogun.

The Lord of the Mikenes Empire finally shows himself after never personally challenging the Mazingers in the Great Mazinger series. The good guys need reinforcements once again but what is possibly left? With that question we move to the legendary Mazinger Pool at the Insitute and, as the waters part, we see Mazinkaiser come out. He runs and the Kaiser Scrander attaches taking him to battle. We see Koji scream as Mazinkaiser charges in for the final battle. THE END.

REVIEW:

This was a short movie done to celebrate the 25th anniversity of the studio that brought us all the classic Go Nagai robots we see in this. It was split in three part each coming in the first three episodes of the Neo Getter Robo bs Shin Getter Robo series. While it is very short, only about 5 precious minutes, it is a super robot fan's dream come true, the ultimate team up. There is little in the way of plot but who cares? No one is seeing this for plot, they are seeing it to watch some of the greatest of all the super robots battling together against a collection of their greatest foes. After seeing this one desperately wants to see more which is the ultimate testament to how good something is.
